Independent Trainer

Karen Zoelle

Karen started her love of horses while riding ponies bareback all over Door County.  When she was 14, she moved to Green Bay and bought her first horse - a 3 yr old thoroughbred just off the track.  Soon after, she joined the local United States Pony Club and became interested in dressage and eventing.  Through Pony Club she achieved the National B rating.

She became the assistant trainer at the Wisconsin Equestrian Center for 10 years, working under the guidance of Head Trainer and USDF Gold Medalist Kim Iwen.  Karen rode regularly with Kim Iwen, Brad Hall, and Eric Dierks.  She also worked with clinicians Capt. Mark Phillips, Natalie Lamping, Hokan Thorn, and Col. Von Ziegner.

Karen has completed through 4th level dressage and has earned her USDF Bronze Medal.  She has been teaching and training for over 20 years professionally.  For 2016, she has taken the leadership role of DC (district commissioner) for the local pony club, Lake Hunt Pony Club.

Karen also practices equine bodywork called Equine Touch in order to keep her horses supple and pain free.
